Alpine running, Nordic walking, jogging, or running - in the newly designed running and Nordic walking region of Gerlos, you will find challenging Alpine paths and adventurous trails. The nature around Gerlos always offers a spectacular experience no matter whether you're a beginner or athlete.


Nordic walking and running routes

2-Lake Trail

2-lake trail: 13 km long, easy running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel and paved roads, forest and meadow paths

Route: the same route as the reservoir trail except that this path leads from the Schütthofalm along the Finkaubach to the Finkau. Go past the alpine inn back to the Schütthofalm and to the starting point of the reservoir trail.

Stream Path

Stream path: 7km long, easy running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel roads, forest and meadow paths

Route: from the "Bärlihöhle" playground across from the Jägerstüberl heading out of the valley along the Gerlosbach to the bridge outside of Gmünd. Cross over to the other side of the stream here and head out of the valley to the tennis center. Switch to the other side of the stream again and continue to the forest path. This connects to the loop trail, and you can then follow the stream back to the starting point.

Village Path

Village path: 1 km long, flat running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel and paved roads

Route: from the "Bärlihöhle" playground across from the Jägerstüberl heading out of the valley along the Gerlosbach. Past Hotel Jägerhof, head over the bridge and along the stream towards the starting point. Cross the bridge and return to the starting point. This route, the village path, is suited for beginners and tempo runs.

Gmünd Lake Trail

Gmünd lake trail: 5km, flat running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel and paved roads, meadow paths

Route: from the starting point at Hotel Kröller along the reservoir to the tunnel and after the tunnel over the dam wall. Beginning after the dam wall is a short, steep climb to the "Graseggweg". Head past Hotel Almhof down to the main road. Go over the bridge and on the other side of the stream back to the start.

Inntal Loop Trail

Innertal trail: 7 km long, easy running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel roads, forest and meadow paths

Route: from the "Bärlihöhle" playground across from the Jägerstüberl towards the Innertal along the Gerlosbach. Past the power station, head along the stream via meadow and forest paths past a relaxation point to the turnaround point on the Klausboden. After the turnaround point, you will follow a similar route back to the starting point.

Reservoir Loop Trail

Reservoir trail: 10 km long, easy running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel and paved roads, forest and meadow paths

Route: from the starting point right at the Seestüberl along the north side of the reservoir to the bridge at the Schütthofalm. From here, head along the lake back to the start and over the dam crest at the end.

Waterfall Trail

Waterfall trail: 7 km long, challenging running and Nordic walking route
Surface: gravel roads, forest and meadow paths

Route: from the "Bärlihöhle" playground across from the Jägerstüberl via a forest path that branches off into the woods. Continue through the forest on a challenging path past a waterfall to the "Wimmertal" turn-off. Via the Wimmertal hiking path, head down a small, steep stretch to the Gerlosbach and continue along the stream back to the start.
